SILVERCRAFT 1920 Art Deco Cloisonne Enamel Desk Clock In Gilt Brass & Bakelite
An art-deco desk clock designed by Silvercraft.
This is an elegant vintage Art Deco desk clock made by the Silvercraft Clock Co. and retailed in New York City by the Farber Bros, a high-end jeweler during the 1915-1925 era. This top-quality heavy clock features a brass dial and the elaborate case made of solid hammered and polished gilt brass with nice bakelite base and enameled cloisonne corners. Fitted with swivel mechanism and the dial cover is a convex glass.
Period: Art-Deco, 1920.
Dial: The dial is semi-circular, gilded, analog with black Arabic black numbers and black steel Breguet hands.
Movement: Swiss, Mechanical 8 days, manual winding with integral key wound from the back.
Materials: Gilt bronze, enamel, bakelite and glass.
Weight: 416 Grams, (0.42 Kg.).
Measurements: 108 mm by 178 mm by 57 mm (4.25 x 7.0 x 2.25 Inches).
Hallmarks: The case is stamped as follows, "Silvercraft Clock Co.".
Note: The case was cleaned, not heavy polished to preserve the patina, in original excellent antique condition. The one-hundred years old clock movement is ticking and working but should need professional cleaning and service for best accuracy.
Condition: The overall condition of this Silvercraft Clock Co. clock is very good. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage and all parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
