Tiffany Co 1970 Elsa Peretti Very Rare Black Jade Lilies Clip On Earrings In 18Kt Yellow Gold
A lilies earrings designed by Elsa Peretti (1940-2021) for Tiffany & Co.
These sculptural pair of clips-earrings are extremely rare. They was designed by Peretti for the Tiffany studios, circa late 1970's. They have been manufactured in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish. Suited with very comfortable omega backs for fastening clips and the posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
They are designed as an asymmetric pair, left and right, mounted with a pair of natural black jades, carved in the shape of lilies. These carvings are embedded in the gold of the main body, giving the impression of floating in the air.
This little sculptures have a reminiscence to the flowers, painted by the American artist women, Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986).
They have a combined weight of 19.4 grams and a measures of 30 mm by 17.5mm (0.69 x 1.18 inches).
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark, the serial numbers and signed in full, "TIFFANY & CO PERETTI 18KT 9951".
Elsa Peretti, was a very famous designer that joined Tiffany & Co in the 1974 and change the complete role of diamonds and color gemstones in fashion for the everyday wear and elevating the status of the sterling silver jewelry. mostly using unusual gemstones and materials. all her creations are as modern today as ever.
Note: We have not been able to trace another pair of earrings like this, very likely they are unique pieces or just a few ones were produced, We recently handle one similar in green nephrite jade.

Condition: The overall condition of this earrings are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All the gemstones, are secured in the settings. This earrings has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
