An octagonal creamer jar designed by Wiwen Nilsson (1897-1974).

Beautiful an elegant Scandinavian geometric jar created in Sweden by Wiwen Nilsson, back in the 1974. This beautiful jar have been crafted with Swedish late art deco modernism patterns in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with a delicate thin semi brushed finish. Fitted with a se circular handle.

 Weight: 184.4 Grams, (118.20 Dwt).

Measurements: 89.5 mm by 57 mm by 100 mm (3.53 x 2.25 x 4 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with Sweden royal marks, the maker's mark AN, the year of production Z9 (1974) and signed in full, "WIWEN NILSSON SWEDEN STERLING Z9 S A.N.".

Karl Edvin (Wiwen) Nilsson, born in 19 May 1897 in Copenhagen. He was a Swedish silversmith and jeweller for the royals. As young he learned the trade by studies and practical work for his father Ander Nilsson in Lund, he educated himself abroad in Germany between 1913 and 1914, and then later he continued more studies in 1919 and 1920. In 1927, he took over his father's business in Lund. Wiwen Nilsson made his debut with his work at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923 where his china coffee service was appreciated as a bold and innovative modernistic piece. Nilsson became one of the 1900s most appreciated and well known silversmiths both in Sweden and internationally. During the 1940s, he had a store in New York.

ConditionThe overall condition of this little jar is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
