VAN CLEEF & ARPELS 1935 Paris Art Deco Geometric Box In Solid .925 Sterling Silver
An art deco box designed by Van Cleef & Arpels.
This is an amazing and rare geometric box, created in Paris France by the jewelry house of Van Cleef & Arpels, back in the 1935. The rectangular box has been crafted with strong art deco linear patterns in high relief with substantial weight in solid .925/.999 sterling silver, with high polished finish. The box is fitted with concealed fixtures, such a twelve-barrels hinge, a push button and a spring for automatic opening.
Weight: 220.2 Grams, (141.15 Dwt).
Measurements: 133.34 mm by 82.5 mm by 13 mm (5.25 x 3.25 x 0.51 Inches).
Hallmarks: Both parts are stamped with French marks: the maker's mark, two times with the national eagle's head, the marks for the assay and warranty of the silver, the five-digits serial numbers and signed in full as follows, "VAN CLEEF & ARPELS 55845".
Collateral: This box is accompanied by a presentation jewelry pouch.
Condition: The overall condition of this Van Cleef & Arpels box is excellent. Besides the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. All parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
