Pair of cufflinks designed by Gucci.

This is a beautiful pair of cufflinks, created in the city of Varese Italy by the fashion house of Gucci, back in 1960. The interesting cufflinks has been carefully crafted with horse-racers motifs in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. The design is made up of iconic elements used by horse-racers such as the horse-stem and the horse cap type hat. Fitted with a concealed connector for comfort fit. This kind of early jewelry by Gucci is highly collectable.

Hallmarks: They are both stamped with Italian marks; the pre 1968 maker's mark associated to Saldarini & Lucchetta in Varese Italy, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18Kt gold and signed in full as follow; "GUCCI MADE IN ITALY .750 10VA". Note: The Law 26 October 1944 n. 313 (Decreto Legislativo Luogotenenziale 26 Ottobre 1944 n. 313) ordered the elimination of the 'fascio' (symbol of 'fascism') maintaining into the lozenge only the number (identification of the silversmith) and the two letters (initials of the Province).

Gucci

Under the direction of Aldo Gucci (son of Guccio), Gucci became a worldwide-known brand, an icon of the Italian Dolce Vita. During the 2010s, Gucci became an iconic 'geek-chic' brand.
