An Italian enameled brooch with a couple in a carriage.
This is a very beautiful brooch, created in Italy during the mid-century modernist periods, back in the 1960. This brooch has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Designed as an elaborated carriage with movable parts, two horses and a well dressed seated couple. It is embellished with applications of color glass enamels and five natural earth mined rubies. It is fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar and a mechanical security lock for safety.
Rubies: Mount in bezels and four-prongs settings, with 5 round faceted cut of natural red rubies with a weight of 0.10 carats.
Birthstone: Rubies for the month of July.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the country of origin, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "K18 ITALY".
