Barman cocktail picks holders bar designed by Sudre.

Fabulous and very elusive piece, created in France by Sudre during the art deco period, back in the 1935. This is a striking 1930s cocktail pick set stand with a French white bartender in chrome fixed to a Makassar zebra wood base. Embellished with black and red lacquers. The seven metal cocktail picks are in good condition with the original paint and no trace of wear. This set was designed by Sudre and manufactured by the French company Cado.

Makassar 

Is a kind of natural ebony, is a species of flowering tree in the family Ebenacea that is endemic to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. The common name Makassar ebony is for the main seaport on the island, Makassar. Makassar ebony wood is reported to be a strong variegated, streaky brown and black, and nearly always wide-striped. It is considered a highly valuable wood for turnery, fine cabinet work, and joinery and is much sought for posts in traditional Japanese houses. Japan used to be the main importer of this wood. It is also used as a wood in fingerboards for guitars and other related instruments and very fine jewelry.

ConditionThe overall condition of this bar is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the wood. All parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
