GILBERT ALBERT 1965 Sculpted Organic Clips On Earrings In 18Kt Yellow Gold
Sculpted earrings designed by Gilbert Albert (1930-2019).
Very interesting pair of clips-on studs earrings, created in Geneva Switzerland by the iconic jewelry designer Gilbert Albert, back in the 1965. This sculptural pair of earrings has been crafted in three-dimensions with retro-modernist patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. The brutalist design with free and disorderly shapes clings to the user's ears as if it were part of it. The earrings are fitted with very comfortable hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of gold posts for pierced ears, can be easily done.

Measurements: 26 mm by 17 mm (1.02 x 0.67 Inches) and raise 9 mm.
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold, the date of production and signed in full, "GILBERT ALBERT 65 GA .750".
Gilbert Albert
He was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1930. He was a jewelry designer and one of the most influential jeweler artist of the 20th and 21th century with more than 10 world award winning prizes. He made important sculptural jewelry works for the Patek Philippe company and he worked there as part of the designer team. He was head of the workshop from the 1955 to 1962, during which time he designed his signature asymmetrical watches for the company. Mr. Albert took his inspiration from his passion for modern art, notably works by Brancusi and Mondrian. In 1962 after leaving the Patek Philippe Co, he founded and opened his own firm at rue de la Corraterie in Geneva where one of his workshops is located still today. He also worked for the Omega SA Watch Company. Recently the company opened boutique stores in Paris and the New York city.
