An unusual lady retractable Chatelaine Pin Brooch.

Beautiful piece created back in the 1903 by The Ketcham & McDougall company in New York. This type of pieces was made for ladies, to hold pens, pencils, glasses or a small watch. This piece is suited at the reverse, with a vertical hinged pin with a lock and a retractable 10 inches (25.4 Cm).

Embellished with a highly detailed gem set French Fleur D’Lys, set with 7 European old rose cut diamonds, 0.14 carats, I/J color, SI-1 clarity.

Has a total weigh of 12.8 grams and a diameter of 25.5 mm.

Stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed in full, ”KETCHAM & MCDOUGALL PAT FEB 24 1903 14 K. NEW YORK”. ”.

The retractable mechanical function is in perfect working condition. all gemstones are original from the period, with no replacements in excellent condition. Very unusual to see in gold with gemstones and with the name of the previous owner engraved “O. B. HAYS - ST LOUIS”.
