*Van Cleef & Arpels Paris 1930 Art Deco Cigarette case in solid 18 kt gold with enamel
Carry-on cigarette case designed by Van Cleef & Arpels.
An exceptional master piece from the French jewelry, created in Paris by the house of Van Cleef & Arpels, back in the 1930. This one-of-a-kind personal cigarette box has ben carefully crafted with great attention to details in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. It was designed fully around, with slightly rounded borders and suited with a hinged invisible spring and a double push lock.
The opening push button lock is bezel set, with 3 caliber cut of natural black jade.
Has a total weight of 134.7 Grams and a measures of 65 mm by 85 mm by 12 mm
All sides are embellished, with an intricate geometric patterns created with applications of black and white hot enamel.
Stamped, with French hallmarks; the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the gold, the maker's maitre cartouche, the enameller mark, the serial numbers and signed, "VAN CLEEF & ARPELS PARIS 21343".
Note: The type of enameling technique that is demonstrated in this piece is extremely difficult to perform, only a master jeweler could do it.
It is in great condition, with gorgeous rich patina. No dents, marks or any distracting damage, all enameled parts are perfects.
