*Van Cleef & Arpels NY 1940 Art Deco Earrings in Platinum with 5.54 Cts in VS Diamonds
Exceptional Pair of Clips-Earrings designed by Van Cleef & Arpels.
Beautiful pieces, created by the house of Van Cleef & Arpels, during the late art deco period, circa 1940's. These rare clips-earrings has been carefully crafted in solid platinum and suited with comfortable french omega backs for fastening clips. The posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
They are totally embellished with very fine color-less white diamonds. Chanel set with 34 straight baguettes cuts (1.74 carats) and prong set with 78 round brilliant cuts (3.80 carats). All gemstones are calibrated in color and quality and have a total weight of 5.54 carats, F/G color, VS-1/VS-2 clarity.
They have a combined weight of 16.95 grams and have a measures of 29 mm by 26 mm (1.15 x 1.03 inches).
They are both stamped. with the maker's mark, the serial numbers, the assay hallmark and signed, "VAN CLEEF & ARPELS NY18294".
Note: During and immediately after the WWII, the VCA branch in the new york city, created many pieces to supply the demand in the mainland United States. All this because the belic conflict and the shortage of production in Paris France.
