Necklace designed by Elsa Peretti (1940-2021) for Tiffany & Co.
Very rare vintage piece, created by Peretti back in the 1981 for the Tiffany Studios in New York. This cord necklace choker was carefully crafted, with a silk cords in the shape of a horse whip to wear as a choker. Embellished, with a free form element made of polished sterling silver, which has the use of the peg in hole lock.
Comfortable fit a necklace up to 15.5 Inches (40 Cm).
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the serial numbers, the assay hallmark and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. 1981 PERETTI .925 2277".
Elsa Peretti, was an important and iconic American designer that joined Tiffany & Co in the 1974 and change the role of diamonds and color gemstones in fashion for the everyday wear and elevating the status of the sterling silver jewelry. mostly using unusual gemstones and materials. all her creations are as modern today as ever.
Note: We have not been able to find any other reference similar to this necklace. We assume that very few pieces were created and based on the premise that it is numbered, we can affirm that they were made in a very limited edition.
It is in perfect condition, with no traces of wear and is accompanied by the designer's jewelry box.
