This exceptional sculptural pen was designed in New York City at the Tiffany & Co. studios by renowned jewelry designer Angela Cummings circa 1981–1982. The piece showcases Cummings’ signature minimalist aesthetic, featuring a sleek twisted linear pattern that creates an elegant and timeless sculptural form. Masterfully crafted in solid sterling silver (.925/.999), the pen is finished with a high-polished surface, highlighting the fluidity of the design and the exceptional craftsmanship associated with Tiffany & Co.
This model was created during the 1981–1982 period but was never officially released to the public due to the corporate transition at Tiffany & Co. and Angela Cummings’ departure from the firm during the same period. Angela Cummings
She was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co. working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
This pen is a nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
