*Tiffany & Co. 1980 Angela Cummings Allure floral earrings in 18 kt yellow gold with inlaid gemstones
Pair of Allure flora earrings designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.
Rare vintage pieces, designed in New York city by Angela Cummings at the Tiffany & Co studios, back in in the 1980. They are a playful and youthful clips-earrings, crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish. Suited at the reverse, with post for pierced ears (Removable) and comfortable omega backs for fastening clips.
They are both carefully embellished with a mosaic, created from 34 multiples abstracts free-forms cuts, carved from natural gemstones; such black jade, blue lace agate and white nacre.
All gemstones are naturally earth mined and inlaid in the gold. The work created, show the stylized figure of a beautiful asymmetric mosaic of Allure flowers with a strong reminiscence of the French sculptor, Jean Arp (1887-1966) and the American painter, Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1886).

They are pretty large with a total weight of 27.95 grams and a measures of 32 mm by 34 mm (1.25 x 1.34 inches).
Both are stamped at the reverse, with the maker’s mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. 1980 18 K".
Angela Cummings was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.
A very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.
Note, This type of Cummings works, was never mass produced and probably only 8 to 10 pieces was made.
