Pair of earrings designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.

Vintage pair of modernist clips on earrings, designed by Angela Cummings, back in the 1978-79. They are a playful and youthful sculptural oval pair crafted at the Tiffany & Co studios in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polish finish. They are fitted with comfortable hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.

The sculptural design create a beautiful color contrast with the gold settings and the jade gemstones, with a reminiscence to the French artist Jean Arp.

Nephrite JadeThey are embellished with 2 of oval cabochon cuts, carved from natural nephrite green jade, with a weight of about 36 carats

Weight: 16.80 grams, (10.77 Dwt).

Measures: 21 mm by 17 mm by 9 mm, (0.83 x 0.67 x 0.35 Inches).

Hallmarks: Both are stamped with the early maker's mark, the mark for the gold assay, the inventory numbers and signed, "T&CO 18KT".

Angela Cummings, was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business. These pair is a very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.

ConditionThe overall condition of these earrings are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. Both gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
