Pair of earrings designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.

A very rare and iconic pair of earrings designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co. in New York City, circa 1977–1978. Among the most recognizable creations from Cummings' celebrated tenure at Tiffany & Co., these exceptional earrings embody her distinctive artistic vision and innovative approach to jewelry design. The pair has been expertly crafted in solid 18-karat yellow gold with a rich high-polish finish and is beautifully accented with inlays of natural blue lapis lazuli.

The design features Cummings' renowned positive-and-negative motif, a sophisticated interplay of form and contrast that became one of her most sought-after and enduring signatures. The vivid blue lapis lazuli creates a striking visual balance against the warm gold, highlighting the sculptural quality and modernist elegance of the composition.

The earrings are fitted with French omega backs for secure and comfortable clip wear. Posts for pierced ears may be added with ease if desired, allowing for additional versatility. Examples of this model featuring lapis lazuli are particularly scarce and highly desirable among collectors. As one of Angela Cummings' most celebrated Tiffany designs, and now long discontinued, these earrings represent an increasingly difficult-to-find example of her groundbreaking work during the late 1970s.

A superb collector's piece, these earrings combine artistic innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless sophistication, making them an important addition to any collection of vintage Tiffany & Co. jewelry or Angela Cummings designs.
