Spike round clip on earrings designed by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.

Rare pair of earrings, created in New York city by Jean Schlumberger at the Tiffany Studios, back in the 1970's. They was crafted with spike shapes in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. They are fitted with comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of post can be easily done.

Gemstones: Mount in the center in a six-prongs settings, with 2 round faceted cut of natural blue aquamarines of about 16 carats.

Birthstone: for the month of March.

Weight: 21.95 Grams, (14.07 Dwt).

Measurements: 25 mm by 26 mm (0.98 x 1.06 Inches).

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. SCHLUMBERGER STUDIOS .750".

Jean Schlumberger, was asked in 1956 by the president of Tiffany & Co. Walter Hovin to begin designing for the firm. He had his own workshop at the company until his retirement in the late 1970's and was eventually made vice president of the company. Schlumberger design's at tiffany were remarkable for their whimsical interpretation of natural forms. He was especially inspired by the sea creatures and others animals. He was an exceptional designer, jeweler and a master enameller.

ConditionThe overall condition of this pair is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. Both gemstones are secured in the settings. These earrings has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
