-Tiffany & Co 1977 Elsa Peretti Rock Quartz Lilies Clips On Earrings In 18Kt Yellow Gold
A lilies earrings designed by Elsa Peretti (1940-2021) for Tiffany & Co.
These sculptural pair of clips-on earrings are extremely rare and just a few were produced. They were designed in the shape of lilies flowers by Elsa Peretti for the Tiffany studios back in the 1977. Carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish and fitted at the reverse with very comfortable hinged omega backs for fastening clips. The addition of posts for pierced ears can be easily done.
They were designed as an asymmetric left and right pair and mounted with two carvings of natural translucent clear rock quartz in the shape of lilies. These carvings are embedded in the gold of the main body giving the impression they are floating. These little sculptures have a reminiscence to the flowers painted by the American artist women, Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986).
Weight: 17.85 grams, (11.55 Dwt.).
Measurements: 30 mm by 17.5mm (0.69 x 1.18 inches).
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold, the unique serial numbers and signed in full, "TIFFANY & CO. PERETTI 18KT 3778".

She was a very famous designer that joined Tiffany & Co in the 1974 and change the complete role of diamonds and color gemstones in fashion for the everyday wear and elevating the status of the sterling silver jewelry. mostly using unusual gemstones and materials. all her creations are as modern today as ever.
Note: We have not been able to trace another pair of earrings like this, very likely they are unique pieces or just a few ones were produced. We recently handle one similar in green nephrite and another pair in black jade.
Collateral: This pair is accompanied by the designer's presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of these earrings is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. Both gemstones are secured in the settings. This pair has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
