Four ropes ring designed by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.
An iconic vintage piece, created by Jean Schlumberger at the Tiffany studios in New York city, back in the 1970's. This four-lined twisted wires ring, was crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats displaying the iconic woven pattern that characterize him.
Has a total weight of 8.4 grams and the actual size is 7.5, Sizing beads, a collar or a spring sizer can be added to accommodate a smaller finger, but the ring’s size cannot be increased more than one number. The width measure is 8 mm (0.32 Inch).
Stamped with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. SCHLUMBERGER .750".
Jean Schlumberger, was asked in 1956 by the president of Tiffany & Co. Walter Hovin to begin designing for the firm. He had his own workshop at the company until his retirement in the late 1970's and was eventually made vice president of the company. Schlumberger design's at tiffany were remarkable for their whimsical interpretation of natural forms. He was especially inspired by the sea creatures and others animals. He was an exceptional designer, jeweler and a master enameller.
