Comma necklace designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany & Co.

Magnificent and extremely rare artistic piece, created by Angela Cummings in New York city at the Tiffany Studios back in the 1970's. This sleek design has been crafted in the shape of an oversized grammatical comma, with elements made of solid yellow gold of 18 karats, a carving of reddish carnelian and a chain.

Gemstone: The main drop element is a natural piece of vivid red jasper carefully carved in the shape of a comma. Jasper is a stone of physical strength and energy, is said to increase one's life force, health and passion. 

Weight:  6.53 Grams, (4.03 Dwt). 

Lenght:  Chain is 16.5 Inches (42 Cm).

Measurements:  23 mm by 28 mm (0.91 x 1.10 Inches). 

Hallmarks: The pendant and the chain are stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the gold assay and signed, "©TIFFANY & CO. 18KT".

Literature: Tiffany & Co. Blue Book for years 1977-1978, For this piece illustrated. Advertised collection in the Vanity Fair magazine 1977.

Angela Cummings, was born in 1944 in Klagenfurt in Austria. She take her education at the art academy in Perugia, Italy and at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau, West Germany. in the 1967 she joined Tiffany & Co working under the guidance of Donald Claflin and in the 1975, she was the artistic director for her exclusive line brand Cummings. in 1984 she started her own line of jewelry to be retailed exclusively at an in-boutique store at Bergdorf Goodman, in New York city. now she's retired from the jewelry business.

Note: This is a very nice and rare collector's piece, both her signed pieces for Tiffany & Co. created in the 1970's and 1980's and also her own exclusive pieces, remain highly collectible and are admired for their beauty, comfort and easily recognizably in style.

Collateral: It is accompanied by the designer's presentation pouch and  jewelry box.

ConditionThe overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The red jasper gemstone is secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
