Clips-on earrings designed by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.

An iconic scalloped pair of clips-on earrings, created in New York city by Jean Schlumberger at the Tiffany Studios, back in the 1970's. This were crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high textured finish. They are fitted at the reverse with comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of post for pierced ears can be easily done.

Weight: 10.25 Grams, (6.54 Dwt).

Measurements: 18 mm by 19 mm (0.71 x 0.75 Inches).

Hallmarks: They are each stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed, "TIFFANY & CO. SCHLUMBERGER STUDIOS .750".

Jean Schlumberger

In 1956, he was asked by the president of Tiffany & Co. Walter Hovin to begin designing for the firm. He had his own workshop at the company until his retirement in the late 1970's and was eventually made vice president of the company. Schlumberger designs at tiffany were remarkable for their whimsical interpretation of natural forms. He was especially inspired by the sea creatures and other animals. He was an exceptional designer, jeweler and a master enameller.
