*Tiffany & Co. 1970 Elsa Peretti rare Lilies clips-earrings in 18 kt gold with nephrite jade
A lilies earrings designed by Elsa Peretti (1940-2021) for Tiffany & Co.
This sculptural pair of earrings is extremely rare, it was designed by Peretti for tiffany, circa late 1970's. They have been manufactured in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polished finish. Suited with very comfortable omega backs for fastening clips and the posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
They are designed as an asymmetric pair, left and right, mounted with a pair of natural nephrite green jades carved in the shape of lilies. These carvings are embedded in the gold of the main body, giving the impression of floating in the air.
This little sculptures have a reminiscence to the flowers, painted by the American artist women, Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986).
Have a total weight of 20.4 grams and a measures of 30 mm (1.18 inches) by 17 mm (0.67 inch).
Signed by the artist and stamped with the maker's mark and assay hallmarks, "TIFFANY & CO. PERETTI 18KT".
The designer Elsa Peretti joined Tiffany & Co in the 1974 and change the role of diamonds and color gemstones in fashion for the everyday wear and elevating the status of the sterling silver jewelry. mostly using unusual gemstones and materials. all her creations are as modern today as ever.
Note: We have not been able to trace another pair of earrings like this, very likely they are unique pieces or just a few ones were produced.
They are in perfect condition and the nephrite jade is natural, gem quality and not dyed.
