"The Classic" desk clock and petrol lighter.

This exceptionally rare “The Classic” petrol desk lighter was created in London, England, circa 1928–1930, during the golden age of the Art Deco period. Masterfully crafted in solid bronze with 24kt gilt, this impressive model possesses an outstanding presence and combines sophisticated decorative arts with ingenious mechanical engineering. A particularly rare configuration, the lighter incorporates an integrated octagonal eight-day clock and the patented Adie Brothers lift-arm ignition mechanism, fitted with a roller flint wheel. The robust and masculine design is complemented by finely executed engine-turned decoration and elegant brown ostrich leather, creating a striking contrast between precious metal and luxurious materials.

The ingenious lift-arm mechanism provides reliable and effortless operation while maintaining the lighter's clean architectural appearance.
