+Swiss 1920 Art Deco Miniature Carriage Clock In Sterling Silver With White Nacre
A miniature travel clock designed by Valmé.
Beautiful miniature travel-carriage clock, made in Geneva Switzerland. This rare little antique clock has been created during the art deco period, back in the 1920. It was crafted with gorgeous details with carvings of natural white nacre and mount on a rectangular case with four spherical elements. Fitted on top with a retractable hinged handle.
Dial: The dial is round, silvered with guilloche and pearled enamel and with gilded dotted borders. Black Arabic numerals with gold hands.
Movement: Mechanical, manual winding, 8 days, with integrated key.
Weight: 54.80 Grams, (35.13 Dwt).
Measurements: 30 mm by 25 mm by 58 mm (1.18 x 0.98 x 2.28 Inches).
Hallmarks: The case is stamped with Swiss marks, "BREVET SWISS STERLING".
Note: Guilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.
Note: Clock has been professionally cleaned and serviced. Clock is in excellent working condition. The silver has not been polished to preserve the patina. The velvet case has some minor surface marks, lining has no tears but very minor discoloration and fraying threads. Both pieces are in original excellent antique condition.
Collateral: It is accompanied by the original designer's presentation fitted wood case.
Condition: The overall condition of this clock is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the nacre. All parts are in perfect condition. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
