BEAUTIFUL RING BAND DESIGNED BY STUART DEVLIN (1931-2018).
"THE PEOPLES" RING, AN ICONIC CREATION BY THIS AUSTRALIAN-BRITISH BASED ARTIST AND GOLDSMITH. THIS EARLY PIECE, WAS MADE IN THE 1972 AND IT IS CRAFTED IN SOLID 18 KARATS YELLOW GOLD. THE BAND IS COMPOSED WITH MANY FIGURATIVE HUMANS FILIGREE FIGURES, ATTACHED TOGETHER FULLY AROUND.
THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THIS RING IS 10.95 Grams AND THE ACTUAL SIZE IS 6, CANNOT BE ENLARGED. HAVE A WIDTH MEASURE OF 13 mm.
STUART DEVLIN (1931-2018) WAS AN AUSTRALIAN BORN ARTIST, BASED IN LONDON ENGLAND SINCE 1965. IN HIS EARLY DAYS, DEVLIN WAS PRINCIPALLY KNOWN AS A SILVERSMITH, TURNING TO JEWELRY DESIGN FURTHER DOWN THE WORKS. HIS WORKS WHETHER IN SILVER OR JEWELRY, IS CHARACTERIZED BY FILIGREE AND PATTERNS OF OPENWORKS RETICULATION. HE WAS APPOINTED GOLDSMITH AND JEWELER TO THE QUEEN ELIZABETHH II IN 1996 AND WAS THE DESIGNER OF THE AUSTRALIAN DECIMAL COINS & MEDALS. IN ADITTION HE CREATED MANY PIECES FOR THE ACTRESS ELIZABETH TAYLOR. HIS WORKS ARE EXHIBITED IN THE PERMANENT COLLECTIONS OF, THE VICTORIA & ALBERT MUSEUM AND THE ROYAL COLLECTION IN BUCKINGHAM PALACE.
IS STAMPED WITH BRITISH, LONDON HALLMARKS WITH THE LETTER R FOR THE DATE 1972, THE CARTOUCHE MAKER'S STAMP OF STUART DEVLIN, SD AND "18" FOR THE GOLD ASSAY.
AS A NOTE, STUART DEVLIN'S PIECES ARE HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE AND HIS JEWELRY PIECES ARE VERY RARE AND ARE RAISING IN POPULARITY, THIS RING IS IN PERFECT CONDITION WITH REMAINS OF ALL THE OLD PATINA.
