Souteyrand Paris 1920 Art Deco Cocktail Ring In Platinum With 15.04 Cts In Red Rubellite & Diamonds
Gem set cocktail ring designed by A. F. Souteyrand Paris.
A very rare collector's piece, created in Paris France by the jewelry house of A.F. Souteyrand, back in the 1920's. It was crafted during the French art-deco period, in solid .900/.999 platinum and .100/.999 iridium and embellished with an exceptional selection of gemstones.
Rubellite: Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with 1 French octagonal cornered Step cut (15.22 x 13.35 x 7.66 mm) of a Rare vivid purplish red tourmaline of a Rubellite variety of 14.56 carats.
Diamonds: Pave set at the stepped sides, with 16 European round cut diamonds, 0.48 carats, F/G color, VS-2 clarity.
Weight: 8.8 Grams (5.64 Dwt).
Size: 7.25, sizeable.
Measurements: From the top view is 16 mm by 21 mm and raise 8 mm over the finger.
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks; the maker's mark cartouche, the platinum assay mark and signed, "SOUTEYRAND PARIS .900".
Note: A.F. Souteyrand expert joaillier and manufacturers, was located at the 23, Rue Racine, 23 Paris. Pieces from this maker are very rare.
Note: Rubellite is a rare gemstone. The rubellite varies from a tender pink color to crimson red with pinches of purple where rubies offer deep red tones only. If rubellites are rare, rubies have been considered to be one of the most valuable gemstones on earth.
