Sigurd Persson (1914–2003) was a Swedish sculptor, blacksmith and professor, who is considered one of the most significant Swedish designers of the 20th century. Growing up in a goldsmith family, Persson founded his own studio in Stockholm in 1942, and during his long career he designed objects in various materials such from metal to glass and plastic. Besides numerous households in Scandinavia and elsewhere, Persson’s designs can be found from collections of many museums, such as New York’s Moma, Musée Des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and London’s Victoria & Albert museum.
