Elegant pair of clips earrings designed by Seaman Schepps.
A nice vintage pair made at the Seaman Schepps atelier in New York city. The design is very unique, crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with high polish finish. Embellished with a pair of squared cushioned cabochons cuts, carved from white Cocholong.
They are suited at the reverse with French omega backs for fastening clips. The posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
This nice earrings have a total weight of 27.2 grams and a measures of 24 mm by 24 mm.
Stamped with the company shell's logo and the assay hallmarks, "SEAMAN SCHEPPS .750 22032".
Seaman Schepps was an American jeweler famous for his retro style, 1950's jewelry design. The company was established in the 1905 as an antique and retailer store. in the 1931 was founded officially as a jewelry designer in New York and the workshop store was located at 516 in Madison Avenue. in the 1933 the business was so successful that they moved to a larger showroom at the 399 in the same avenue. The firm was sold in the 1992.
Cacholong, is also known as Kalmuck agate, is a form of Opals, although it is often mistaken for agate or chalcedony. A milky white colour with a Mohs harness of about 6, it is used for carving, cameos, etc. Found in Austria, Czech Republic, Mongolia and Uzbekistan, its name possibly comes from a river in Uzbekistan.
