A jeweled gem-set Scottish dirk letter opener in Agate.
Fabulous and unusual antique letter opener made in Scotland, between the 1880 and 1900. This one-of-a-kind piece was designed in the shape of a Scottish dirk (dagger) and was entirely crafted in .900/.999 sterling silver. The upper part is embellished with gemstones, carved from natural Lace Agate, Brown Agate and Red Coral.
The blade is carved from a single piece of natural brownish agate and is mounted, with three round brilliant cuts of natural Scottish Yellow Topaz, with a combined weight of 5.5 carats.
The complete measures are 251 mm by 22 mm (9.89 by 0.87 inches), (25.1 by 2.2 cm).
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to any part. All gemstones are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
