An exceptional and very rare Art Deco geometric table-desk petrol lighter, made in Paris by Royal in the late 1930s. This is the oversized model, crafted in solid sterling silver (.900/.999) and decorated with engine-turned patterns, with sharp, angular lines typical of the period. The lighter is in near-mint condition, showing almost no signs of use, and remains fully functional. A refined and highly collectible piece, it is especially sought after by collectors of antique lighters and fine Art Deco objects. Its unusually large size makes it particularly rare—this is the first example of this model we have encountered.

Hallmarks: Stamped with several French marks; one time with the Parisian maker's mark Ste. PF (Societe P.F.) inside a lozenge cartouche, two times with the French national mark of the eagle for the assay and warranty of the .900/.999 silver and signed as follows, "ROYAL DEPOSE 45237".

Collateral: This ROYAL art-deco lighter is accompanied by a presentation jewelry velvet pouch.
