Wonderful youthful organic pair, created by Robert Bruce Bielka, back in the late 20th century. These clip earrings was carefully crafted with great attention to details in the shape of sunflowers, in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with textured finish. Suited with a pair of very comfortable omega backs for fastening clips and the posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
Mounted into bezels, with a pair of round double checkerboards (10 mm) natural blue topaz of 8 carats.
They has a combined 14.4 weight of Grams and a diameter of 20 mm (0.79 Inches).
Both are stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "RBB BIELKA 18KT".
Robert Bruce Bielka, was a student of engineering and art at the University of Washington, when he discovered his love for jewelry in 1971 and began a long apprenticeship as a bench jeweler and jewelry designer, moving in 1975 to work for the house of Cartier in New York. In 1979 Bielka founded his own jewelry design and manufacturing firm in New York incorporating the company as Bielka, Inc. in 1981. He was soon selling his one-of-a-kind show pieces to jewelers such as Mikimoto, Tiffany, Van Cleef & Arpels, Harry Winston, Gubelin, Chaumet and Neiman Marcus where he has become a featured designer. In 1991 he began working with Asprey in New York where he created the basis for the Asprey Sunflower collection inspired by his successful sunflower earrings. He is an inventor holding patents covering the articulation of his whimsical animal jewelry -of which his jeweled teddy bears are best known- and his innovative connections for his calibre-set bracelets.
