Sculptural bracelet designed by Jose Maria Puig Doria.

A sculptural reversible bracelet created in Barcelona, Spain, by the jewelry designer and goldsmith José María Puig Doria, circa 1968–1970. This rare and visually striking piece was conceived within the aesthetic framework of Spanish Modernism and masterfully handcrafted in solid 18-karat yellow gold with a high-polish finish. The bracelet exemplifies Puig Doria’s distinctive approach to sculptural jewelry, combining bold form with functional versatility. Designed as a reversible jewel, the bracelet is set with two contrasting gemstones: a vivid green chrysoprase and a richly toned tiger’s eye quartz, allowing for dual presentation. The removable upper element serves as both a decorative focal point and a functional closure, operating as a tension-lock mechanism secured by two discreet opposing hooks. This ingenious construction reflects the designer’s emphasis on both form and engineering. A rare example of mid-20th-century Spanish studio jewelry, this bracelet embodies the sculptural and avant-garde spirit of the period while maintaining exceptional wearability and craftsmanship.
