Fabulous retro wrist watch, designed in France by fashion designer Pierre Cardin, back in the 1971. This beautiful and rare watch is the Pierre Cardin model PC115, and was crafted with a rectangular shape with op art patterns. Constructed with impeccable details in France by the Jaeger LeCoultre company in solid stainless steel, in very limited editions.
After designing collarless suits for the Beatles in 1963 and Nasa Spacesuits in 1970, Pierre Cardin launched his very brief Space watch line in 1971. He was inspired, by the cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin that was the first man in space in 1961. The watches was made of metal blocks, Lucite cubes, layered disks, contouring arcs, smoky crystals, bold stripes or flying saucer-shaped Futuro domes, all of them are very rare and all are mechanical watches fitted with hand wind Jaeger.
Movement: Jaeger LeCoultre, manual mechanical winding, caliber 36FHF 17 jewels.
Case: Rectangular with round dial in frosted and polished silver, analog, hour and minutes black steel hands, inscribed Pierre Cardin Made in France, reference 977065.
Weight: 59.2 Grams, (37.95 Dwt).
Size: The leather wrist band has a lenght of 8 Inches (20.32 Cm) and can be adjusted.
Measurements: The case is 45 mm by 28 mm and a thickness of 6.5 mm (1.77 x 1.10 x 0.26 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and signed, "PIERRE CARDIN MADE IN FRANCE JAEGER FRANCE CALIBER 36 FHF 17 JEWELS 977065."
