 American Art Pottery Dragon Kiln Fired Vase designed by Paul Chaleff.

This is a very large oversized American Art Pottery Vase created by Paul Chaleff, back in 1986. The art pottery vase is exceptional and highly collectable The artist is an American ceramist and professor emeritus of Fine Arts at Hofstra University. He is considered a pioneer of the revival of wood-fired ceramics in the US and is credited as one of the first to use wood-burning dragon kilns in the style of the Japanese Anagama tradition. The artist's signature is inscribed on the side along with the date 1986. There are no problems or restorations.

Paul Chaleff

He is an American ceramic artist and educator. Born in New York City in 1956, Chaleff studied at the Parsons School of Design and the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, where he received his MFA in 1984. Paul Chaleff work is characterized by his use of traditional ceramic techniques and materials, combined with his own experimental approaches to form and surface decoration. He is particularly well known for his large-scale, abstract ceramic sculptures, which often incorporate multiple pieces and are inspired by natural forms and landscapes. His works has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. He has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1992.
