-Navy Signal Cannon 18th /19th Century European Brass Barrel And Wood Carriage
European signal cannon from the late 18th-19th century.
An antique piece made and used in Europe, circa 1800. This kind of small scale toys were made to be used in the navy of some European country, to send firing signals ship to ship. Signal cannons were also used by ships coming into harbor, which would signal the authorities in the port to come and inspect the ship before it offloaded goods and crew. This beautiful siege cannon piece is composed by the brass barrel with an opening of 12 mm, the wood mount carriage and two wheels mounted in an axis by multiples iron screws. It is in great antique condition with traces of use. Have a gorgeous patina and great eye appeal, fantastic piece to be displayed at any desk.
The screws of the wheels has been replace to adjust it very secure.
Measurements: 12 by 4.5 by 5.25 inches (30.5 x 11.4 x 13.3 cm).
Note: Technically is in working condition and could be used for the purpose for which it was created.
Condition: The overall condition of this piece is very good. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the brass. All parts are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.
