MODERNIST CUFFLINKS 1970 Stepped Carved Rock Quartz And Textured 18Kt Yellow Gold

Pair of modernist sculptural cufflinks attributed to Andrew Clunn.

This is a magnificent modernist pair of vintage cufflinks, created by Andrew Clunn by attribution in New York, back in the 1970's. The cufflinks has been crafted with a substantial bold look, in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with twisted and textured finishes. The gold settings are embellished with two gorgeous stepped carvings of natural translucent rock quartz and are fitted with hinged flexible T-Bars for comfort fit.

Andrew Clunn

He was born in England and moved to the United States where he worked as an apprentice to David Webb from 1963 until Webb’s death in 1975. During his 12 years of apprenticeship, he became a trusted employee and eventually become Webb's right hand man and worked with well-known clients including Elizabeth Taylor and the Duchess of Windsor. In 1980, Clunn opened his own jewelry studio on Madison Avenue in New York City specializing in unique and distinctive jewelry designs for distinguished families in Europe and North America. He died in February 2016 in Rye,

Hallmarks: Stamped with the mark for the assay of the gold as follow: "18kt".

Collateral: These cufflinks are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.

Condition: The overall condition of these cufflinks are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The 2 gemstones are secured in their settings. This pair has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
