Beautiful pair of vintage clips-on earrings crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with hammered and cuts finishes. The earrings are fitted at the reverse with comfortable omega backs for fastening clips and the gold post option for pierced ears can be easily added to convert. They are embellished with a magnificent pair of carved green jades from the rare Maw Sit Sit variety.
Jade: Mounted with 2 oval cabochon cut (20 x 15 x 4 mm) of natural vivid green Maw Sit Sit jade, with a total estimate weight of 24.30 carats.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the mark for the assay of the gold, "P.A.P. 18KT".
Maw Sit Sit
This is a rare vibrant green semi precious gemstone material also known as jade-albite. Is a gemstone found exclusively in the northern Burma. It was first identified in 1963 by the late Swiss gemologist Edward Gubelin and was named after the village close to where it was first found in the foothills of the Himalayas. Typically maw sit sit is green with distinctive dark-green to black veins. Maw sit sit is technically a rock rather than a mineral. It is composed of several different minerals, including kosmochlor (also known as ureyite), varying amounts of chromium-enriched jadeite, and albite feldspar. Clarity found within maw-sit-sit is typically translucent to opaque. Is vibrant and bright green Maw Sit Sit designer cabochons can have black spots, or dark-green to black veining and sometimes they have white spots.
Note: This stone is often found near jadeite. Maw-sit-sit is found in the famous jade mining region of Tawmaw in the Himalayan foothills of northwestern Myanmar.
