Mid Century 1960 Trio Convertible Necklace In 18Kt Yellow Gold With 4.07 Cts In Diamonds and Lapis

An estatement versatile piece, created in Italy during the mid-century period, circa 1960's. This exceptional bold convertible collar, was carefully crafted in solid textured yellow gold of 18 karats with white gold accents for the diamonds settings. The collar is suited with a discrete hinged fold over lock. The detachable drop piece can be used as an independent pendant or weared as a brooch since is suited with a movable bale and a hinged double pins.
Mounted with 10 fluted round rosettes and six curved cabochons carved from natural Afghani blue lapis lazuli.
The white gold parts are bezel set, with 37 calibrated round brilliant cut diamonds, 4.07 carats, F color, VS-2 clarity.
All parts have a combined weight of 182.95 Grams. The collar have a lenght of 28 Inches (71.12 Cm) and the measurements of the drop element are 47 mm by 52 mm (1.85 x 2.04 Inches).
Stamped, with the maker's mark, the gold assay hallmark and signed, "TRIO 18 KT .750".
Note: Lapis is a vivid dark blue, like the sky at twilight or the ocean depths. The greatest reserves of this "blue treasure" are in Afghanistan, where it has been mined from the same small area of a single river valley in the remote Afghan province of Badakhshan for more than 6,000 years. The lapis lazuli pieces on this collar are gem quality.
