MEXICO TAXCO 1930 Art-Deco Geometric Links Necklace In Solid .980 Sterling Silver
An art-deco Taxco necklace made in Mexico.
This is a very unusual geometric necklace created in Taxco Mexico during the art deco period, back in the 1930. The early style necklace has been designed with geometric patterns and crafted in solid .980/.999 sterling silver. Composed by twenty elements connected by round rings and fitted with a hook closure. The necklace is stamped with "Taxco 980", which refers to high-purity jewelry (98% silver, 2% alloy) crafted in Taxco, Mexico, often during the 1930s-1950s boom. Known for its rich tone and malleability, 980 silver is higher than standard sterling (925) and is commonly found in vintage, artisan-made pieces. These items often feature early Taxco hallmarks.
