French 1950 Paris 18Kt Gold Star Pendant-Brooch With 4.62 Cts In Diamonds And Lapis Lazuli
Mid-Century jeweled French Pendant-Brooch.
Gorgeous and exceptional piece, created in Paris France during the post war period, circa 1950's. This one-of-a-kind piece was crafted in the shape of a five-pointed star in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. It is suited at the reverse, with a horizontal hinged pin with a trombone lock to wear as a brooch and a retractable rounded bale of 7 mm to hang into a chain.
The star points are embellished with 5 three-dimensional elements carved from natural rich afghan blue lapis lazuli.
The connector piece at center is mounted, with 77 calibrated and gradated (.05-0.20 carats) round brilliant cuts diamonds with a combined weight of 4.62 carats, E/F color, VS-1/VS-2 clarity.
Have a total weight of 20.8 grams and a measures of 62 mm by 62 mm. (2.45 inches) and raise 10 mm (0.40 inch).
Stamped with beautiful French hallmarks; two times, with the eagle's head for the assay and guaranty of the 18 kt gold, the maker's maitre cartouche PB, the country of origin mark, France and in addition is stamped, with the British importer cartouche, "JW .750 18 KT".
Note: The lapis lazuli is vivid blue and have some remains of gold flakes and traces of pyrite.
