*Jean Vitau panther brooch in 18 kt yellow gold with 16.13 Cts of sapphires
Jeweled panther brooch designed by Jean Vitau (1928-2011).
A masterpiece created by the French, New York based jeweler Vitau. This gorgeous piece was carefully crafted with impeccable details in solid 18 karats yellow gold and suited with a hinged horizontal bar with a trombone lock.
The eyes of the panther are set with two round vivid red rubies (0.10 cts) and the entire body is mount in full, with a perfect graduated pave setting of 229 round brilliant cuts of natural sapphires.
Distributed as Ceylon blue (69) and vivid yellow (160) with a combined weight of 16.03 carats.
Have a net weight of 23.95 grams and a measures of 26 mm (1.02 inches) by 78 mm (3.07 inches).
Is stamped with the maker's logo, the assay hallmarks and signed, "JEAN VITAU 18 KT 1984".
Jean Vitau, born in 1928 in France. Was a very talented jeweler who established in New York in 1970. He become one of the major sub-contractor to Tiffany and his wedding jewelry were the number one selling for many years. Vitau was known for his classic jewelry and his favorite was the designs that was inspired by nature: animals, fantastic birds, insects and flowers.
