*Jean Despres 1935 Paris rare 18 karats gold pendant with 1897 Russian 15 Rubles gold coin
Beautiful coin pendant designed by Jean Despres (1889-1980).
An unusual rare piece created with art deco patterns by Jean Despres in Paris, France between the 1930 and 1940. This has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats, with polished and hammered surfaces.
It is mounted, with a genuine Russian gold coin of 15 rubles, dated 1897-AR, from the period of the Tsar Nicholas ii (1894-1917). The coin is .900/.999 finesse and have a weight of 12.9 grams, listed at the Yeoman coin catalogue under Russian Empire as number 65.
Have a total weight of 28.2 grams and a measures of 37 mm (1.46 inches) by 52 mm (2.04 inches).
Stamped, with very clear French hallmarks; the eagle's head for the guaranty and assay of the 18 kt, the maker's maitre cartouche JD for Jean Despres and signed in full, "J. DESPRES" with serial numbers.
