AN IMPRESSIVE LITTLE CLOISONNE SILVER VASE MADE BY ANDO JUBEI (1873-1953).
CREATED IN JAPAN, DURING THE MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), AROUND THE 1890.
A PERFECT PIECE OF CLOISONNE TECHNIQUE EMBELLISHED WITH AN INTRICATE GEOMETRIC PATTERNS OF BIRDS AND ORGANIC SYMBOLS. IS CRAFTED WITH THE INVISIBLE SILVER WIRES TECHNIQUE NAMED Yūsen shippō AND WITH 18 KARATS POLISHED GOLD RIMS AT THE BORDERS.
THE ANDO CLOISONNE COMPANY IT IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW TRADITIONAL CLOISONNE COMPANIES STILL LEFT IN JAPAN. THE MAIN STORE IN SAKAE HAS A SMALL MUSEUM WITH OBJECTS BY THE ANDO COMPANY AND ALSO AT THE NAMIKAWA CITY. OBJECTS FROM ANDO JUBEI ARE HELD IN PRIVATES COLLECTIONS AND IN MUSEUMS LIKE THE COLLECTION OF THE WALTERS ART MUSEUM AND THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM.
