This geometric cocktail ring was created in the city of Turku in Finlandia by the jewelry designer Pekka Piekäinen, back in 1974. The sculptural ring has been designed for the company named Auran Kultasepät, with geometric "interrogative" patterns in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with high polished and thin brushed finishes. Pekka Piekäinen was a highly-regarded Finnish silversmith who began his career designing for Kaunis Koru in the 1960's. In the 1970's he began working as the lead designer at Auran Kultasepät, one of the oldest silver manufacturers in Finland, and remained there until 1989 when he founded Platinoro.

The artist has been recognized as a designer both in Finland and internationally since the 1970's. Jewellery designed by Piekäinen can be identified by its pure and simple lines. In 1976, Piekäinen received the State Prize of Industrial Design, and in 2002 The Finnish Goldsmith Association appointed him as The Goldsmith of the Year. "In all artist's work, whether it be painting, composing, or design, the basis and the driving force behind it, is the innermost need to express their feelings and their desire to constantly improve their work. An artifact exists in the designer's mind only as long as it is being created. Once it is ready, it is history." Pekka Piekäinen served as the Head Designer for Auran Kultasepät during 1971-1989. During his career Mr Piekäinen has designed watches for Omega, Tissot and Lanco. Pekka Piekäinen’s work is celebrated for its clean, minimalist lines and thoughtful use of color. Drawing inspiration from nature and everyday life, he translated these elements into elegant jewelry, objects, and timepieces. Notably, he was the first Finish and the first from the Nordic region to have his jewelry sold at Tiffany & Co., solidifying his international reputation. From 1971 to 1989, Piekäinen served as the Head Designer at Auran Kultasepät, where he honed his craft and influenced Finnish design. He also collaborated with prestigious watch brands, including Omega, Tissot, and Lanco, showcasing his versatility in design. In 1991, he founded the jeweler Platinoro, further cementing his legacy. His creations reached global prominence, with notable clients such as Princess Diana, reflecting his ability to merge Scandinavian simplicity with universal elegance.
