An iconic vintage Chaine D'ancre scarf's ring, created in Paris France by the luxury house of Hermès. circa 1980. Crafted with mariner links, in solid plated yellow gold of 18 karat with high polished finish. This model is no longer produced and is a great find for any avid Hermes collector!. The nautical Chaine D'Ancre was originally designed as jewelry over 70 years ago by Robert Dumas. Very chic and always modern.
Chain D'Ancre History
The story behind this iconic Hermès design dates back to 1938. It was during a trip to the Normandy coast that everything began, when Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family was inspired by the shape of the links on a ship's anchor. He designed a bracelet echoing these and christened it 'Chaîne D'Ancre'. The idea for the mythical Silver Anchor Chain Bracelet did indeed come from this entanglement, as chic as it is complex.
