An iconic and very rare vintage Chaine D'ancre toggle bold bracelet, created in Paris France by the luxury house of Hermès. circa 1990. Crafted with 12 mariner links, in solid yellow gold of 18 karat with high polished finish. This famous bracelet is heavy, substantially bold, highly collectible and utterly stylish. Signed Hermes with French hallmarks. This model is no longer produced in yellow gold. This superb statement piece of jewelry is very beautiful and a great find for any avid Hermes collector!. Fitted with security toggle closure. The nautical Chaine D'Ancre was originally designed as jewelry over 70 years ago by Robert Dumas. Very chic and always modern.
History
The story behind this iconic Hermès design dates back to 1938. It was during a trip to the Normandy coast that everything began, when Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family was inspired by the shape of the links on a ship's anchor. He designed a bracelet echoing these and christened it 'Chaîne D'Ancre'. The idea for the mythical Silver Anchor Chain Bracelet did indeed come from this entanglement, as chic as it is complex.

Hallmarks: Stamped at the ends and the ring toggle with French marks, three times with the head of the eagle for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold, the maker's mark inside a lozange cartouche, the mark for the assay of the gold, the serial numbers and signed, "HERMES .750 58894".
