*Hermes Paris 1950 by George L'Enfant 18 kt gold textured knots cufflinks
Exceptional pair of knots cufflinks designed by George L'Enfant for Hermes.
Very rare vintage pieces from the French post war period, circa 1950. It was created in Paris at the atelier of George L'Enfant, located at 47 rue des petits-champs. This very early type of cufflinks with this specific textured pattern are difficult to see in the after market.
They are crafted in solid 18 karats yellow gold, with excellent craftsmanship showing the iconic textured twisted ropes pattern, characteristic from the L'Enfant atelier.
Is stamped with French hallmarks; the eagle's head for the assay of the gold, the maker's maitre cartouche GL and signed "HERMES".
This pair have a total weight of 20.8 grams and a measures of 27 mm by 15 mm.
Note: This model was designed in the 1930's and produced in gold and silver. The pattern showed in this pair is the earliest one, more refined.
It is n impeccable condition with remains of the 70 years old orange-reddish patina.
