Spanish Colonial 1820 Rare Large Display Amphora Vase With Handles In Solid Sterling Silver
A Spanish Colonial amphora vase with handles.
Gorgeous oversized antique silver piece with baroque and neo-classic patterns. made at the beginning of the 19th century, during the Spanish Colonial period, circa 1820, most probably in the viceroy of Mexico.
It was very fine made in solid .930/.999 sterling silver, with chiseled and fluted scalloped organics designs. The sides has attached a pair of handles of Spanish baroque style.
Has a gross weight of 1345.3 grams and a measures of 18.5 by 9.2 by 9 inches (47 x 23.37 x 22.86 cm).
Note: This piece has not been polished to preserve the original patina, it has only been gently cleaned.
Provenance: A private collection of Spanish colonial silver in Coral Gables, Florida.
Very impressive and decorative piece with great eye appeal, in great antique condition and with gorgeous patina.
