French Ghiso Paris 1920 Art Deco Cards Case Box In Agate And Diamonds Mounted In Platinum
Cards case designed by Ghiso Paris.
Gorgeous piece, created in the art deco style in Paris France by the luxury makers and jewelry house of Ghiso, back in the 1920. It was carved with impeccable precision from one single piece of translucent brownish clear agate gemstone and mounted with platinum settings. Fitted with two invisible hinges and finished with millegrain patterns. Shoe no trace of use and the closure hinge work properly.
Diamonds: The platinum parts are mounted with 82 old European rose cuts diamonds.
Weight: 54.65 Grams, (35.03 Dwt).
Measurements: 86.55 mm by 50 mm by 16 mm (3.40 x 1.97 x 0.63 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, "GHISO".
Ghiso, in the 1890, a member of the Ghiso family emigrated to Buenos Aires from his native Italy. Within a short period of time, he opened a jewelry salon. The business became the pre-eminent house of this type in Buenos Aires. At the beginning of the century, his two sons traveled to Paris where they established a branch location. One son, Oscar, coordinated all business matters as well as arranging with designers to create jewelry in the current styles which were then shipped to Buenos Aires and their other branch location in New York City. Both locations were closed sometime in the late 1930s or 1940s, but the flagship store in Buenos Aires remained open until the 1960s. Oscar Ghiso died in Buenos Aires in 1985.

Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All gemstones, are secured in the settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
