Organic ring designed by Gilbert Albert (1930-2019).

This is a very rare cocktail ring created in Geneva Switzerland by the iconic jewelry designer Gilbert Albert, back in the 1960's. The sculptural ring has been crafted organic textured patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finish. The ring is embellished with nine natural and earth mined gemstones, such; a vivid green tourmaline, white colorless diamonds and natural pearls of different colors. The design with free and disorderly shapes clings to the user's finger as if it were part of it.

Period: Modernist, 1960-1970.

Tourmaline: Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with 1 rectangular faceted cut (11 mm by 9 mm by 5.5 mm), of a vivid green tourmaline of about 5.18 carats, (calculated by formula).

Diamonds: Mount in four-prongs settings, with 3 round brilliant cuts diamonds, with a combined weight of about 0.27 carats, white colorless F color, VS clarity.

Pearls: Mount in bar settings, with 5 natural pearls of 3 mm with different colors.

Weight: 13.40 Grams, (8.60 Dwt). 

Size: 7.75 and may be sized up or down on special request.

Measurements: 23 mm by 20 mm (0.91 x 0.79 Inches) and raise 15 mm over the finger

Hallmarks: Stamped with Swiss marks; the maker's mark GA, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and signed in full as follow, "GILBERT ALBERT .750 GA".

Gilbert Albert

He was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1930. He was a jewelry designer and one of the most influential jeweler artists of the 20th and 21th century with more than 10 world award winning prizes. He made important sculptural jewelry works for the Patek Philippe company and he worked there as part of the designer team. He was head of the workshop from the 1955 to 1962, during which time he designed his signature asymmetrical watches for the company. Mr. Albert took his inspiration from his passion for modern art, notably works by Brancusi and Mondrian. In 1962 after leaving the Patek Philippe Co, he founded and opened his own firm at rue de la Corraterie in Geneva where one of his workshops is located still today. He also worked for the Omega SA Watch Company. Recently the company opened boutique stores in Paris and the New York city.
